3 Common Fables Linked to Trail Cameras
Trail cameras are not the usual ones and it
is necessary to gather sufficient information about its usage or else you can
easily fall prey to the common myths. Some of the primary myths are negatively
used by manufacturers to exploit sales. Whereas,
there are certain myths which are simply circulated as rumors and do not hold
any truth.
Let us try to reveal the three common myths
associated with trail cameras that need to be hushed away.
Additional Megapixels Leads to Better
Pictures
This is simply the most common mistake that
people do at the time of buying a trail camera. If the camera offers 18
megapixels or so, they would believe the equipment will provide great pictures.
This is not at all true, since most megapixels ratings present on trail cameras
are interpolated. To be precise, interpolated images are developed when the
camera digitally augments extra pixels for every actual pixel the camera
creates. Hence, a green pixel is simply
split into 4, 8 or 16 added green pixels. Such a process neither enhance picture
quality nor permits to zoom in for viewing additional details.
Alkaline Batteries Are Perfect for Trail
Cameras
Although alkaline batteries are inexpensive
in nature, they are not proven ideal for trail cameras. This is because the
voltage level along with overall capacity associated to an alkaline battery takes
a dip with every subsequent photo. If these batteries are used in infrared
trail cameras, it also leads to a gradual drop in flash illumination after each
new photo, which tends to become darker than the previous one. The trail camera market has evolved majorly
over the years to not fall for such rumors that do not favor the buyers.
Operating a Game Camera Requires a
Tech Genius
This is truly a myth and you need not freak
out! Cellular trail cameras are much more complicated when it comes to setting
up, as compared to traditional trail camera. In reality, different camera
manufacturer follow a slightly different setup menu; however, most of them are relatively
easy and simple to use. Supposedly, you face any issue with the setup, you can
directly contact with the manufacturing unit for receiving quick assistance.
